To say it’s bustling would be a complete understatement

Hundreds of fish stalls have been in full swing at Dubai's wholesale fish market in Deira, near the Al Shindagha Tunnel since just after midnight, though trading does not officially start until about 4.30am. For Leonard Stall, this traditional shopping experience is more akin to “absolute pandemonium”, where traders of all different nationalities and ages come together to sell the freshest fare in the emirate – from small tuna fish to blue crabs.

In this audio, David Burns, Vice Chairman of the British Business Group, takes Vision’s Editor-in-Chief on a guided tour offering a glimpse into this world of “organised chaos” and reveals why the market is one of his favourite places in Dubai.
